Registration for swimming lessons will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at the Elementary School in Watkins. Below is a schedule of dates and times lessons will be offered. Lessons will be held Monday through Thursday for two weeks. Class will only be held on Friday, if a makeup day is needed due to bad weather. If you are unable to register on the 31st, you may register by phone starting Tuesday, April 3, by calling (320) 764-6400. All phone registrations must be paid within three (3) days of registration or the registration will be cancelled. Payment can be mailed to City of Watkins, Box 306, Watkins, Minn. 55389, or a drop box is available at City Hall. Classes will be limited to ten (10) students per class for Levels 1-6. Preschool classes will be limited to six (6) students per class and will run 50 minutes. Classes will also be subject to change, if there are not at least five (5) students registered for a level. ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE. Classes will run 50 minutes. Parents are not required to be in the water with the children. Children who are 5-years-old should be at least 42″ in height to enroll in Level 1. Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills – helps students feel comfortable in the water and to enjoy the water safely. Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills – gives students success with fundamental skills. Level 3: Stroke Development – builds on the skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice. Level 4: Stroke Improvement – develops confidence in the strokes learned and to improve other aquatic skills. Level 5: Stroke Refinement – provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.
