TCN earns three prestigious awards

·

At the annual Minnesota Newspaper Convention three weeks ago in Brooklyn Park, the Tri-County News won three institutional awards as judged by our peers in another state.

Typography & Design, first place. This means the judges liked the overall look of our paper, and how it’s put together.

Advertising Excellence, third place. This is our tenth Advertising Excellence award, largely due to the superb work of Sue Hughes our graphic designer. Not for individual ads, this award is for excellence in our advertising overall, throughout the year. “Easy to read and eye-catching,” was the judge’s comment.

Website, third place. This is our eighth Website award, won using various web hosts (so we know it’s for our content, not the host). Judges appreciated the “good selection of news,” and noted that the audio articles are a “nice touch.”

Congratulations to all our 2024 staff for their hard work to earn these awards that cover entire issues of our newspaper for the year. It takes a team, and we’ve got a good one!

We trust the new team can continue this tradition of winning multiple awards each year and, of course, providing interesting and good-looking content to our readers throughout the year.
