Stearns County is proud to announce that County Engineer Jodi Teich has been named the 2025 Urban County Engineer of the Year by the National Association of County Engineers (NACE). The prestigious award recognizes her outstanding leadership and application of efficient engineering management principles in the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of public works facilities.

The award was presented at the annual NACE Conference in Chicago. At today’s Board Meeting, Commissioners joined Lyndon Robjent, Carver County Engineer and President of the Minnesota County Engineers Association (MCEA), and Wayne Sandberg, Washington County Engineer and NACE Secretary/Treasurer, in commending Teich for her accomplishments. County Engineers from Otter Tail, Pope, and Benton Counties were also present to celebrate her leadership and the meaningful contributions she has made to strengthening public infrastructure across Stearns County and beyond.

Teich was nominated by the MCEA, receiving unanimous approval from both the MCEA Nominating Committee and its Board of Directors. Her career is marked by a deep commitment to public infrastructure, community service, and mentorship.

“Jodi is recognized statewide for being a leader in public service and an expert in county engineering,” said Lyndon Robjent. “She has made significant contributions to transportation. She is a mentor to us all, as shown by those in the room. Jodi is an incredible asset to the entire county engineering profession.”

Teich’s leadership roles include serving as president of both the Minnesota Transportation Alliance and MCEA – where she was also the organization’s first female officer. She currently serves as Minnesota’s State Director on the NACE Board of Directors. She has given countless testimonials at the state legislature. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Teich has been a strong advocate for developing the next generation of engineers, regularly participating in high school and college outreach events and mentoring young professionals.
