Temps cool to upper 70s with a possibility of some rain

We had a perfect weekend for most of the area with sunshine, but also some much-needed rain at times. I know our lawn was very dried out, but following the recent rains it is greening up once again.

As we know, however, it doesn’t take long for that moisture to be “used up” when it soars back into the mid- to upper-80s with lots of sunshine and breezy conditions. That rainfall is either absorbed by the soil, or any surface moisture quickly evaporates because of the warm temps and the winds.

We could see some moisture return by late Thursday into Friday as a cold front is expected to arrive across the region. Temperatures should fall into the upper 70s by Friday.

Looking ahead to the Fathers’ Day weekend, it should be quiet on Saturday but some spotty rain is possible on Sunday.

Happy Fathers’ Day to all of the dads! I know how important dads are, and how much my own father taught me about life and love of family, and our nation as a World War II veteran.
