Thank you to those who donated at the Red Cross Blood Drive in Watkins Wednesday, Dec. 28. Sixty units were collected. Of the donors, there was one first-time donor. These donors received pins for the number of gallons donated: Cindy Kuechle and Jeanne Olson for one, Connie Hesse and Ralph Lambert for 3, Bryan Landwehr for 4, Randy Hesse for 6, Ethel Donnay for 7, and Marlene Brulla for 14 gallons. Congratulations. All of you donors made a difference in saving lives.
With the help of community members, this drive was successful. Thank you to all the community volunteers who worked as a team for this event, to the organizations who donated, prepared or served the snacks or the meal to the Red Cross workers, and to those who set up and took down all the equipment, and to St. Anthony Church for the use of their social center.
Promoting this event was very important. Thank you to the newspapers for publishing articles and the city for the use of the marquee.
