Thanks to TCN staff

A huge “thank you” to Barb Rose and Marsha Cohrs for doing the paper last week. Both offered to take care of everything to do with producing last week’s Tri-County News so that I wouldn’t be tempted to work while on a very rare vacation. And it worked: The paper got out as usual, and we enjoyed a nice vacation.
Few know how many “moving parts” there are to putting together a community newspaper each week. And those who know, appreciate the effort required. There are literally hundreds of pieces that go into this weekly “jigsaw puzzle” of a newspaper. Someone has to sort through the pieces, prioritize what goes where, and then pull it all together with filled and aesthetically pleasing pages.
It was a delight to have a break from that for a week, and I’m a little surprised that I didn’t just pop back into full-speed mode this week.
Barb is our only full-time staff person, and a lot falls onto her shoulders: subscriptions, processing stories for the paper (nearly everything within these pages was re-typed and/or formatted by Barb), and answering phones and emails; she is the primary contact person as I’ve been able to work from home.
Marsha is a graphic artist who helps a few days a week processing photos for the paper and proofing. Her InDesign skills came in handy last week as she put together the whole paper in that software.
Thank you both for your hard work and dedication. And thank you for the real vacation!
