Area residents headed to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 4. New school board members were voted into positions. Dorothy Kersten, Jerome Kuechel and Matthew Serbus were elected to four-year terms. Respectively, they received 142, 177 and 151 votes in Kimball precinct and 8, 9 and 6 votes from St. Augusta voters. Marguerite Laabs won the election for the two-year term over Tim Peglow with a 112-92 vote in Kimball and 6-4 in St. Augusta. 41 votes were cast in the four-year term race for 16 different write-ins. There were five write-ins for the Laabs-Peglow race with three names. More information on the school board election can be found in next week’s edition of the Tri-County News.
