Theft in Greenleaf Township

Sunday, Dec. 13, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received and responded to a report of a burlary on Minnesota Highway 22 in Greenleaf Township. Forced entry was made into a locked building and horse trailers were also entered. Multiple horse saddles and other horse-riding equipment were taken with a total value of more than $20,000. Several of the saddles here hand made/modified, and one saddle was a one-of-a-kind show saddle, with an estimated value of more than $4,000. This saddle is described as having a pink alligator-skin seat and multiple rhinestones. A vehicle towing a trailer was used in the commission of this crime. Ten horses were on the property during this crime, including four horses that were in the locked building that the suspect(s) forced entry into. None of the horses were taken or harmed.
