Sometime between 9 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, gasoline and diesel were siphoned from about a dozen vehicles parked at Kimball Garage and Kim-Built Propane along Hwy. 15. A garage employee arrived for work and saw the bucket and garden hose (stolen from Kim-Built) in front of the garage (see above photo; the parked truck belongs to an employee and wasn’t there the night before). Visible at the top of the photo are tire tracks left between the two businesses. Staff photos by Jean Doran Matua.
Another incident occurred Monday night during the volleyball game at Kimball Area High School. Three individuals allegedly broke into the visiting team locker room and stole cash as well as several cell phones, cameras, and iPods; all but one were recovered and the two juveniles and one adult were arrested Tuesday morning. The two crime sprees appear to be unrelated.
