A 40-year old St. Cloud woman, Ronda Willenbring, was killed in a head-on collision Monday, Jan. 22, 2 miles north of Kimball. The accident, involving a pick-up truck and a semi-truck, closed down a stretch of Highway 15 for more than three hours.

20 years ago

Donnie Eppel, a 16-year old boy from Kimball, survived a farm accident. His right leg got stuck in a silo unloader on his parents?Äô farm south of Kimball. He reversed the unloader, and loosened his leg from the machine. He was then taken to St. Cloud hospital.

30 years ago

Attorney General Hubert Humphrey III, and Carl Eller, former Minnesota Viking and founder and director of Triumph/United States Athletes Association, a drug abuse prevention program, spoke at the Kimball Area High School.

40 years ago

The prices of groceries have changed. At Knaus Sausage House Inc., milk was only 69 cents for a gallon, while a gallon of milk now costs almost $4 in some places. At the Red Owl, now known as Gohmann?Äôs, a dozen eggs were 29 cents, and now range from $1-$2. One could get three 1-pound loaves of bread for $1, but now, one loaf of bread costs about $2.Compiled by Raven Koltes
