Pat Motter of Cold Spring and his father Rick of Hibbing shot a trophy moose on opening day of Minnesota?Äôs ?Äúonce-in-a-lifetime?Äù moose hunt near Finland, Minn. Rick had applied for a moose permit every year since 1970, and his persistence finally paid off this year. They now have 450 pounds of moose meat on their hands!

?ÄúOstrich on the Move ?Äô95?Äù tradeshow came to St. Cloud State University, open to the public. Ostrich farming is one of the most exciting and profitable new business concepts in the United States.

Thursday, Nov. 21, was Minnesota D-Day, the tobacco-free day. School employees were urged not to smoke on any school grounds, buttons were worn with slogans ?ÄúLungs at Work, Don?Äôt Smoke,?Äù and hourly announcements were made over the P.A. system urging people not to smoke.
