Townships prepare for elections March 14

Township elections (for many Minnesota townships) will be held Tuesday, March 14. Watch for more details about polling places and times. Or check the Minnesota Secretary of State website at www.sos.state.mn.us to find your polling place.

The following is information we’ve received regarding local township elections and candidates.

Eden Lake Township

Robert “Bob” Haag is on the ballot for a 3-year term as supervisor.

Nicholas “Nick” Thielen is on the ballot for a 2-year term as treasurer.

Fair Haven Township

Voting is from 4-8 p.m. at the township hall; annual meeting begins at 8:05 p.m. Kasey Tvedt is the candidate for a 2-year term as Treasurer. (No one filed for the Supervisor position.)

Kingston Township

Mary Filzen is the candidate for a 2-year term as Treasurer. Randy Callander is a candidate for a 3-year term as Supervisor.

Luxemburg Township

Larry Hansen is the candidate for a 2-year term as Supervisor.

Incumbent Jeff Theis is running for another 2-year term as Treasurer.

Lynden Township

Jean Schermer is the candidate for a 2-year term as Treasurer. David L. Johnson is candidate for a 3-year term as Supervisor.

Maine Prairie Township

David Lochen is candidate for a 3-year term as Supervisor.

Southside Township

Southside Township holds their elections in November, every-other year along with the General Election.

Check with your Township office, or the sos.state.mn.us website to find polling places and times. (Most polls will at least be open from 4-8 p.m., with annual meetings following the close of the election at 8 p.m.)
