Two-vehicle crash

·

At about 11:20 a.m. Monday, July 18, the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a two-vehicle crash on County Road 18, south of County Road 25 in North Fork Township. The caller was reporting that one of the vehicles had rolled, and that there were injuries.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that Harley Roering, 17 of Belgrade, was traveling north on County Road 18 in a 2007 Chevrolet Impala when her vehicle crossed the center line. The Impala then collided with a 2019 Chevrolet van driven by Pedro Zaragoza, 35 of Willmar, before entering the east ditch where it overturned. Zaragoza’s vehicle came to a rest on the west side of County Road 18.

Roering and her juvenile passenger were transported to the Glenwood Hospital for treatment. Zaragoza was not injured.

Brooten Fire Department, Brooten Ambulance, the Belgrade/Brooten Police Department, and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash.

It is believed that distracted driving was a contributing factor in the crash.
