Two-vehicle crash west of Marty

At about 12:04 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 8 and County Road 48, west of Marty.

Upon arrival, deputies found a 2010 Chevrolet HHR driven by John Andrew Elder, 67 of Kimball, had crashed into a 2021 Ford F150 driven by Dale Donald Hansen, 60 of Kimball. Further investigation revealed that Hansen had been traveling westbound on County Road 8 and had stopped at the east stop sign of the four-way stop. Elder was traveling northbound on County Road 48 when he failed to stop at the four-way stop striking the driver’s side of the F150.

Elder was transported to St. Cloud Hospital by Mayo Ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. Hansen was not injured. 

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Kimball Fire Department and EMS, as well as Mayo Ambulance.
