The Valley Victors 4-H club members met in the rain Saturday, May 20, and Sunday, May 21, to plant trees. Their cause was to help the Watkins environment after the tornado last summer that destroyed many beautiful trees in town. They planted maple and spruce trees around town at Watkins citizens?Äô homes. They also planted a row of spruce trees in the new park on the north side of Watkins.
Thank you to the Watkins Lions, Paynesville Lutheran Church, and the Watkins Sportsman?Äôs Club for donating to our cause. These donations helped lower the price of the trees paid by grateful homeowners.
