Vernon Huckenpoehler, age 71, of Kimball died suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, in St. Cloud after suffering a massive heart attack.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Kimball with
Rev. David Milz officiating. Burial will follow at Kimball Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the funeral chapel.

 

Vernon Paul Huckenpoehler was born Nov. 2, 1944, in Watkins to Christ and Hildegard (Huberty) Huckenpoehler. On Sept. 8, 1973, he was united in marriage to Kathy Nygaard in Watertown, S.D. Vern worked as a truck driver; transporting milk, grain, fuel and many other products throughout the five-state area. He enjoyed Twins Baseball, being the neighborhood watch dog, doing yard work, washing the car, and his dog Willie.

Vern is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers-in-law.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; sons Kenny of St. Joseph and Paul (and Nicole) of Kimball; step-son Randy VanNurden; grandchildren Travis, McKenzie, and Cassidie; step-grandchildren Tyler and Chase; brothers and sisters Ervin (and Darlene) of Wakins, Millie Jensen of Eden Valley, Earl (and Barb) of Kimball, and Rosie Chastek of Spicer.

The urn bearers will be Kenny, Paul, Nicole, and Travis Huckenpoehler. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
