School volunteers needed The Sauk Rapids-Rice School Volunteer Program provides opportunities for parents and community members to become involved in the education of students in a positive and constructive manner. Volunteers are needed at the elementary level to help students academically, and to help teachers with sorting, filing or classroom supervision. Help local food shelf St. Joseph Community Food Shelf serves 35-45 families a month and distributes educational materials. They need food donations for Thanksgiving food baskets by Wednesday, Nov. 17. Food and clothing are also needed by Tuesday, Dec. 14, to give as Christmas gifts.
