As retirees living in the Eden Valley-Watkins School District, my wife Lemmie and I strongly support the June 6 referendum providing for student safety, building security, and needed facility improvements.
These improvements are not about frills or fancy buildings. The referendum is a vote for maintaining our aging facilities, while continuing to focus on pursuing high quality education within the buildings the District has operated for many years.
We want our school taxes to be at a minimum, and we believe a YES vote will help the District to continue achieving that objective. If we fail to maintain our core school buildings and other facilities, we risk losing students to other school districts ?Ķ and that will increase our taxes.
A YES vote is a good investment. We urge our neighbors to vote YES.
