Warm front to arrive Friday

·

Weather: Snow fell across northern Minnesota into parts of central and west central Minnesota on Sunday. Some parts of northern Minnesota picked up anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of snow late Saturday night into Sunday.

Meanwhile, a cold front on Monday divided the state of Minnesota. Parts of central into southern Minnesota reached the 30s and 40s for daytime high temperatures on Monday. Across northern Minnesota, however, it was cooler on Monday as temperatures only reached the 20s and lower 30s for daytime high temperatures.

With the passage of the frontal boundary system Monday night, some light snow and light rain impacted the state of Minnesota. Some of the light snow lingered into Tuesday from central Minnesota into the Arrowhead region.

Cooler air will settle in for Wednesday and Thursday on the backside of the system as high pressure returns. Parts of northern Minnesota could fall below zero by late Thursday night into Friday morning as we are expected to tap some cooler Canadian air.

A warm front will arrive on Friday along with a southerly flow. This will bring in some warmer air to the Gopher State. We could be heading back to the 50s across parts of Minnesota by this weekend.

Cooler weather is expected to return by late Sunday into early next week along with the chance of some rain and snow.

Have a wonderful upcoming weekend and welcome to March.
