It certainly wasn?Äôt the nicest Memorial Day Weekend we have ever experienced, but we have also seen many that were worse.
Some of you might recall the Memorial Day Weekend back in 1975 when rain hit most of the state and pretty much washed out everyone?Äôs three-day weekend plans. We have also had some snow across parts of northern Minnesota on Memorial Day Weekend.
This Memorial Day weekend, we had some hit and miss rain and temperatures started off pretty decent. However, as the weekend progressed we saw that downward spiral into the lower 60s by Monday.
Looking ahead to the midweek and the upcoming first weekend in June, high pressure will keep things fairly quiet for the midweek. Temperatures will generally reach the upper 60s and lower 70s for Wednesday-Friday. We should see a bit of warm-up over the weekend.
Some of the weather computer models are hinting at the low to mid 80s across parts of Minnesota by Sunday. With the warmer temperatures, we could see some scattered thunderstorms over the weekend. A few of these storms could be on the strong to severe side by Sunday if things hold together. Do keep an eye and an ear to changing weather conditions!
Have a great upcoming weekend and welcome to the meteorological start of summer on June 1st!
