Warmer temps coming later this week

Parts of Minnesota started off the week with some patches of fog Monday morning. Most of the region saw a blend of clouds and sun by Monday afternoon. Temperatures were in the upper 20s and low to mid-30s across the area.

A fairly quiet weather pattern continued Tuesday. Temperatures cooled down slightly Tuesday with highs generally reaching into the upper 20s.

By midweek, a couple of weak disturbances will push across the region. We could see some light snow and some patchy freezing drizzle Wednesday.

A secondary weather disturbance is expected to arrive Wednesday night into early Thursday. This system also could bring some light snow across the area. Some patchy freezing drizzle is also possible with the system. High temperatures Thursday should reach the lower 30s.

A surge of warmer air will follow Friday as temperatures are expected to reach into the mid 30s. A few spots across the state could be near 40 degrees.

At this stage it looks like the weekend will be quiet and dry with highs generally in the 30s.

Have a wonderful midweek and do drive carefully as the roads could be slick at times!

The NWS reported that “scattered trees were downed, and a few buildings received minor roof damage across the region.”
