Water-related accidents limit fun on the Fourth

The first water related accidents of the summer were reported to the Stearns County sheriff’s office. Both accidents took place on the Fourth of July. The first involved a head-on collision between two jetskiers, Clint Rademachers, 26, and Daniel Geise, 29, both from Freeport. The two were traveling in close proximity of each other in some waves when the crash occurred. After Rademacher’s water craft ran over Geise and his jet ski, Rademacher was thrown into the water. Geise was unconscious and Rademacher administered CPR until the Avon Fire and Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance. arrived. The Life Link Helicopter service transported Geise to the St. Cloud Hospital. Rademacher was treated at the Albany Hospital. The accident is still under investigation. The second accident happened on Goodeners Lake. Shaunee Lee Chut, 21, of Hastings was thrown from a tube being pulled by a boat driven by Patrick Allen Weiden, 41. Chut was kept overnightat the St. Cloud hospital and was in stable condition.
