Watkins clip Flames, Eagles

The Watkins Clippers participated in the Central Valley League/Stearns County League Challenge this past weekend.

Clippers defeat Flames

The Farming Flames scored first, but the Clippers caught up in the third, then took the lead in the sixth. 

Dan Berg earned the win pitching 6.1 of the seven innings, with Matt Geislinger in reserve. Kyle Zierden would take the loss for the Flames, pitching all seven innings.

Runs were scored for the Clippers by Kevin Kramer, Dan Berg, Tyler Hebrink, and Lincoln Haugen. Berg, Haugen, and Brendan Ashton each hit a RBI. Berg and Adam Hiltner each hit doubles on the game.

Scoring for the Flames were Mitchell Thelen, Craig Klein, and Aaron Eiynck. 

The final score was 4-3.

Watkins defeats Regal Eagles

The Watkins Clippers took the lead scoring two runs in the first, and never looked back. Regal scored only one run, in the fourth.

Matt Geislinger earned the win for the Clippers, pitching seven innings; Logan Linn pitched two in relief. Jordan Wosmek was tagged with the loss, pitching all eight innings for Regal. 

Dan Sargent led the Clippers with three runs; Kevin Kramer scored the other two Clipper runs. Dan Berg hit 2 RBI, and Tyler Hebrink hit 1. Kevin Kramer hit two doubles on the game.

The sole run for Regal was by Jordan Beierr. 

The Clippers won, 5-1.

The Clippers are scheduled to play at Litchfield Blues, at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 24; and at Eden Valley Hawks at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 25.
