Jill Warrem. 19-year-old daughter of John and Carol Warren of Watkins, was named one of 12 finalists for the title of Minnesota’s 54th Princess Kay of the Milky Way Sunday during the Dairy Princess Training Seminar in St. Joseph. More than 60 dairy princesses competed in the weekend’s judging, and were judged by application, personal interview, a speech and mock media interview. The new Princess Kay will be seleted the night before the opening of the Minnesota State Fair in August, and will act as the state’s goodwill ambassador for the dairy industry. As a finalist, Warren will have her likeness carved in butter during the State Fair.
