William Adolph of Kimball died Friday, April 9, 2004, at HIlltop Care Center in Watkins where he had been a resident for the past year. He was 98. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. David Grundmann officiating. Burial followed in Kimball Cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball. A prayer service was held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. William Jacob Adolph was born June 11, 1905, in Kimball to John and Elizabeth (Kooper) Adolph. He married Irene Becker June 26, 1923 in Watkins; she preceded him in death Dec. 24, 1996. For many years he farmed in Maine Prairie Township in Stearns County; from 1963 until his retirement in 1979 he was a custodian at Alamosa College in Alamosa, Colo. William was a member of St. Anne’s Church. He enjoyed fishing. William was preceded in death by his wife Irene; sons Donald, Kenneth and William Adolph; sisters Emma Olson, Amelia Blair and Cecelia Adolph; brother Sonny Adolph; and six grandchildren. He is survived by his children Marvin (and Dorothy) Adolph of South Haven, Darlene (and Marlyn) Jacobson of Grand Junction, Colo., Corrine (and John) Colton of Hereford, Ariz.; daughters-in-law Mildred Adolph of Paynesville and Virginia Adolph of Moesca, Colo.; sister Theresa Cossairt of Kimball; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Alicia, Amanda and Justin Adolph, Josh Bollmann, Jacob and Jeremy Reitmeier. Music was provided by St. Anne’s Choir with Frosty Schiefelbein organist.
