Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, in Watkins at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Celestine officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Friends called after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. The senior citizens prayed the rosary at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home followed by a Franciscan wake service at 7, parish prayers at 8, and Catholic Order of Foresters rosary at 9.
William J. Becker was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Watkins to the late William J. and Barbara Becker. He married Frances Eichers Sept. 7, 1940, in Holy Rosary Church in Minneapolis. He farmed until his retirement.
William was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife; sons Duane Becker and David Becker of Watkins, Dennis Becker and Daryl Becker of Kimball, Delton Becker of Richmond; siblings Sister Giovannie OSF of Little Falls, Mrs. Albin (Katherine) Heman of Osage, Iowa, Mrs. Helen (and George) Drewelow of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Hubertine Johnson and Mrs. Veronica Ruprecht of Minneapolis, Mrs. A.C. (Josephine) Bush of Raymondville, Texas; and seven grandchildren.
