William “Chipper” Tobin died Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at his Annandale home. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale, and one hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls.
William James Tobin was born Sept. 7, 1947, in St. Cloud to William Dudley and Margaret Louis (Hermes) Tobin. He graduated in the class if 1965 from Annandale High School. William served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage June 6, 1985, to Tina DeBlois at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven. Bill worked as an assembler and inspector at Tennant Company in Golden Valley, stocked shelves at Walmart in Buffalo, and maintained the Annandale City Park for Green View. He enjoyed bonfires, woodworking, his dogs Taco and Brandy, music, car rides, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Peggy Hunt, father-in-law Corky DeBlois, brother-in-law Harry Hunt, and nephew-in-law Guy Thompson.
He is survived by his wife Tina of Annandale; son Jeff Tobin of Clearwater; grandchildren Victoria, Olivia, and Brock; sister Gracie (and Marvin) Samuelson of Annandale; mother-in-law Erna DeBlois of Fairhaven; brothers-in-law Barry DeBlois of Buffalo, and Doug (and Stephanie) DeBlois of Arlington; sisters-in-law Laurie (and Charlie) Kersten of Fairhaven, Wendy (and Alan) VanVleet of Annandale, and Kim (and Rodney) Simons of Annandale; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Casket bearers will be Alexander and Zackary Nesenson, Troy Isensee, Corky Simons, Tiffany Olson, and Jennifer Thompson. Arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
