University of Minnesota Extension, in collaboration with the Minnesota Dairy Initiative – South Central Region, have announced the upcoming Winter Dairy Series in an effort to bring dairy production education to the region.

The 2020 “Women in Dairy” event will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, at the Crow River Winery & Vineyard in Hutchinson. The featured speaker of the evening will be Kim Bremmer, nationally recognized speaker and creator of Ag Inspirations. This event’s focus, “Celebrating Women in Agriculture,” will inspire women with ties to the dairy industry through networking, education, and empowerment. The event will run from 6:30-9 p.m., beginning with registration and social gathering, followed by dinner and program speaker starting at 7 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Registration is $25 person after Wednesday, Jan. 8. For tickets, go to z.umn.edu/womenindairy20 to register online or contact the McLeod County Extension office at (320) 484-4334 or mnext-mcleod@umn.edu to reserve your spot.

Kim Bremmer’s passion for teaching the story of sustainable agriculture led her to create Ag Inspirations, an organization with the goal of improving public perception, positively affecting policy, and advocating the importance of science, technology and innovation in agriculture. As a farm girl, a mother, a dairy enthusiast, and a “science junkie,” she brings a refreshing and realistic perspective to the realities of farming and food production. Kim is a dynamic, knowledgeable, enthusiastic speaker who compels audiences to reconsider what they think they already know. Her experience in connecting with everyday consumers and being a vocal champion of agriculture, from the grocery store to the airport, will inspire us to work together and share the real story of agriculture with our communities.
