Friday, Feb. 13, Kimball travelled to the Rocori Quad to wrestle Rocori, Paynesville and Maccray. The injury bug hit Kimball, and we had to use some JV wrestlers and still had some open weights. Our wrestlers did very well against three very good teams. In the first match the Cubs lost to Rocori by a score of 52-16. In the second match it was Kimball to Paynesville, 26-53. The third match was Kimball and Maccray, 26-51; Kimball forfeited the last four matches. The Cubs had two wrestlers go 3-0 on the day. Jeremy Dahnke (171) had two pins and a major decision. Dan Barthel (140) had a tech fall, a major decision and a regular decision. David Dahnke (130) went 2-1 with a pin and a major decision. John Hanley (160) also went 2-1 on the day with a decision and an injury default. Others getting pins on the day were Jacob Kieke (103) and Gary Salmela (125). The Cubs now will enter section playoffs with their first match against Zimmerman at Norwood.
