Wright County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an armed robbery in progress at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the parking lot of the St. Michael Post Office. A female St. Michael resident stated that three white males, driving a white Chevy Trailblazer, pulled up to her in the parking lot of the post office. One of the males walked up to her vehicle, pulled out a gun, and asked for money. The victim was able to drive away from the suspect without being harmed or giving any money. A short time later, a Wright County Sherff’s deputy observed the suspect vehicle speeding south on County Road 19 from Highway 241 in the city of St. Michael. The deputy caught up to the vehicle in the parking lot of Schulte’s Nursery in St. Michael. The three occupants – Zachary Catlin, 19 of Foley, Garry Erwin, 27 of St. Cloud, and a juvenile male from St. Cloud were arrested for aggravated robbery. Further investigation revealed a plastic replica handgun found in the vehicle, that the Chevy Trailblazer was stolen out of Sauk Rapids, and other items located in the vehicle were taken in a residential burglary in Stearns County. Catlin, Erwin and the juvenile were transported to the Wright County Jail and booked on charges of aggravated robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of stolen property.
