State Rep. Larry Hosch, a member of the House Veterans Affairs Division, is urging the areas World War II veterans to attend the free June 9 dedication of the state’s new memorial. This year’s Agriculture and Veterans Bill, which Hosch co-authored, includes $250,000 to help pay for expenses to ensure any World War II veteran can get to the event for free. “As we honor the greatest generation with the memorial, it’s only right that those who sacrificed so much for our freedoms attend,” said Hosch. Veterans needing transportation to the event should contact Terry Ferdinandt, the county veterans service officer at (320) 656-6176 or via e-mail at terry.ferdinandt@co.stearns.mn.us. They can also contact Rep. Hosch’s office at (800) 947-8264.
