Tri-County SWM to collect waste pesticides

·

The Tri-County Solid Waste Management Commission has signed an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to accept waste pesticides from homeowners and, in some cases, farmers and businesses. The commission’s household hazardous waste facility has taken waste pesticides from homes in Benton, Sherburne and Stearns Counties for many years. That program will continue. In the past, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture has collected waste pesticide from farms and businesses. However, that program has been discontinued. In order to provide service to farms and businesses, the commission’s household hazardous waste facility in St. Cloud will accept agricultural pesticides in some cases. Farms and businesses that have waste pesticides that need proper disposal should call the commission at (320) 255-6140 or toll-free (800) 450-6140 to determine if the Tri-County facility can be of assistance.
