Spring has officially arrived with some below-average temps
·
Spring weather didn’t coincide with the calendar, however, as some snow arrived by late Tuesday. A storm system tracked across the state and brought generally 1 to 4 inches of snow north of I-94.
We could see some lingering snow stay with us for Wednesday. Temperatures will also continue to be a bit cooler than average for much of the week and into the weekend.
In case you are wondering, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for below-average temperatures to continue with slightly above-average precipitation.
Keep thinking warm thoughts for at least a while. At least we made it through winter, officially.
Weather history: On this date in 1952, records show that heavy snow fell across much of Minnesota. The National Weather Service says “13.2 inches of snow fell on the Twin Cities.”
Weather facts: Did you know that the month of March can be very stormy? It is a time of transition from cold air to warmer air which can cause thunderstorms, but also lingering snow.
