I don’t think too many people have been complaining about the weather over the past week. Temperatures have certainly been pleasant for this time of the year.
High temperatures the past couple of days have been 15 to 20 degrees above average. Keep in mind that normal high temperatures for this time of the year are generally in the mid- to upper-30s. We did see some scattered rain early Sunday, but otherwise we have been enjoying a pretty quiet weather pattern.
A series of weak cold fronts will arrive starting Wednesday. They will come through generally dry across the state. We will see temperatures gradually cooling down as the week rolls on, but we will still remain above-average for mid-November.
Some scattered rain will be possible by Sunday as a bit stronger system is expected to arrive. High temperatures over the weekend should be in the mid- to upper-40s.
Weather history: On this date in 1996, the National Weather Service says “an ice storm” moved across the state. Flights at -Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport were shut down “due to ice forming on the airplanes and runways.”
Weather facts: Did you know that worms “wiggle up from underground when a flood is coming?”
