Sunday, March 19, Jordan Michael Lewis, age 23, of Brooten was westbound on CR19 when his car failed to negotiate the curve near CR 200. He left the roadway and vaulted across CR 200, striking a power pole. The pole was sheared off near the base causing several power lines to come down, causing power outages in the area. The car rolled and the airbags did deploy. Mr. Lewis called a friend for help who called 911.
Belgrade Fire Department and Brooten Ambulance responded to the scene. Lewis was taken to Glenwood Hospital. Mr Lewis was not wearing his seat belt and alcohol use may have been a factor. The accident remains under investigation.
