Cecilia Kuechle of Watkins died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 92. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and 8-10 a.m. Thursday at Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Watkins Senior Citizens prayed the Rosary at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m. Cecilia M. Kuechle was born May 30, 1915, in Watkins to Matt and Susan (Dockendorf) Kramer. She married Henry J. Kuechle in 1935 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins, and they farmed at Watkins where Cecilia raised chickens and sold eggs for hatching. She also had a large pickle patch and sold pickles to neighbors and the local pickle factory. They retired from farming in 1972, and moved to a house in Watkins. Cecilia worked for a few years at the Watkins Retirement Center. Her husband, Henry, died in 1978. Cecilia was a life long member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins and was active with the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Watkins Senior Citizens. She is remembered by her family as a good cook and homemaker with a good sense of humor. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering, gardening and canning. While at the nursing home, Cecilia enjoyed playing Bingo and helping bake cookies for the residents. Her family was very important to Cecilia and she knew all of her 88 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild by name. Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; daughter-in-law Colleen Kuechle; infant sister Louise Kramer; and brothers Joe, Frank, Leo and Norbert Kramer. Cecilia is survived by her children and their spouses Clara (and Kevin) Jonas of Ham Lake, Jim (and Donna Lou) Kuechle of Tyler, Texas, Donna (and Frank) Koenig of Richmond, Marlene (and Lloyd) Kunkel of Kimball, Richard (and Karen) Kuechle of Watkins, Geraldine (and Vic) Jonas of St. Cloud, David Kuechle (and special friend Joanne Potter) of Long Lake, Steve (and Susi) Kuechle of Cold Spring; 29 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and sister Mary Neu of Cold Spring.
