What’s happening at the Eden Valley Area Library?
Let’s hope by the time you read this, spring will have sprung. Whatever the weather, we always have fun activities planned.
With the growing season fast approaching, are you dreaming of having some sort of garden this year? Garden Dreams is a program to foster the love of gardening and is a source for free flower and vegetable seeds offered through our Seed Library with seed pickup beginning Monday, April 3, with possibly a plant or two later. There will also be informative handouts about bees, butterflies, flowers, and veggies, and any questions can usually be answered by asking one of the library volunteers as most are avid gardeners.
Storytime for Toddlers through Preschool-age will take place from 10-11 a.m. Monday, April 17. The May story time is schedule for Monday, May 8. With crafts, songs, and great stories, those toddlers will have a great time. Please remember that all children need to be accompanied by an adult.
Eden Valley Library Book Club is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the library. “All Good People Here” by Ashley Flowers will be discussed. This thriller features a journalist uncovering her hometown’s dark secrets.
Then, mark your calendars. The upcoming book for May will be “The Book Woman’s Daughter” by Kim Michele Richardson. It’s called “A powerful portrait of courageous women.” Remember, everyone is welcome. Come join us and see what you think.
We are starting to plan our children’s summer program, Education Nation. Our theme this summer is The Wonders of Minnesota. Our state has so much to offer, and it’s fun to be able to introduce children to those wonders. If you are interested in helping, please let us know.
The current library hours are 2-5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Questions? Contact the library by phone at (320) 453-4434, or message us on Facebook.
