Cyril Voigt died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at his Luxemburg home. He was 80. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg with Rev. Thomas Knoblach officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Friends called from 4-9 p.m. Monday, April 24, and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Mary Hall in Luxemburg. St. Augusta American Legion Post 621 prayed at 6:30 p.m. Monday, followed by Catholic Aid Association at 7 p.m. and parish prayers at 8 p.m.  Cyril G. Voigt was born Jan. 11, 1926, in Clearwater to Tobias and Mary (Kloeppner) Voigt. He married Anna May Schroden on May 15, 1951, in St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg. Cyril served in the U.S. Army near the end of World War II. He farmed near Luxemburg most of his life and was a member of St. Wendelin’s Catholic Church, Catholic Aid Association and St. Augusta American Legion Post 621. Cyril’s hobbies included farming, conversation with friends, but most important in his life was his faith and love for his family, who were all very dear to him. Cyril was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Loretta Jansky and Jeanette Gohman; and brother Gerald Voigt. Cyril is survived by his wife Anna May; children Leonard (and Julie) Voigt of Marty, Robert (and Maggie) Voigt of St. Cloud, Kathy (and Randy) Porwoll of Sartell, Richard (and Gretchen) Voigt of St. Cloud, Marion (and Brian) Philippi of St. Cloud, Paul (and Terry) Voigt of St. Augusta, Larry (and Karla) Voigt of St. Augusta, Joseph (and Kelly) Voigt of St. Augusta, Gary (and Patricia) Voigt of Clear Lake; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers Roger Voigt of Clearwater, Dennis (and Janett) Voigt of Becker, Jim (and Pat) Voigt of Clearwater; and brother-in-law Zeno (and Alice) Gohman of Becker. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements were by Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
