Daisy Johnson died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. She was 96. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Grace United Methodist Church in St. Cloud. Visitation was from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at Benson Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the service at the church Monday. Burial was in North Star Cemetery in St. Cloud. Daisy E. Johnson was born Aug. 4, 1907, in Lac Qui Parle County, Minn., to Frank and Agnes (Miley) Flam. She taught school for seven years before she married Herbert A. Johnson on Sept. 24, 1932, in Minneapolis. Daisy later taught at the Hurley School, a one-room school in District 79, for many years before retiring in 1965. Daisy and Herbert farmed. Herbert died Sept. 26, 1995. Daisy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in St. Cloud. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert; son Larry on Nov. 11, 1993; brother Franklin Flam and sister Blanche Neel. She is survived by sons Bruce (and Janelle) Johnson of Zimmerman, Minn.; Harland (and Sara) Johnson of Longville, Minn.; daughter-in-law Edie (and Gene) Jurek of Waite Park; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Daisy’s grandchildren: Jill Gerharz, Dan Johnson, Tamara Eckberg, Beth Zak, Craig Johnson, Cory Johnson and Jay Johnson.
