At about 5:22 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, the Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a call regarding an individual found lying on 150th Street in Luxemburg Township. The caller, a passerby, advised that the individual appeared to have been shot and appeared deceased. The -Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department responded to the scene.
A deceased adult male was found in a field approach on 150th Avenue with a vehicle parked nearby. The scene was processed and the deceased was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Both the investigation at the scene and the subsequent autopsy have determined that the wounds were self-inflicted. The man’s identity has not yet been released.
