In a surprise announcement at Eden Valley-Watkins High School, Sharon Borgert was named the first Teacher of the Year to be honored by diversiCOM/Melrose Telephone Co. COO Dean Mohs (pictured at right) made the announcement and presented Borgert with a granite trophy and a $2,000 cash prize to use as she sees fit. Since November, 46 nominations for 16 teachers within diversiCOM’s service area. diversiCOM plans to make the award each year to a local teacher. Borgert holds a Masters of Reading degree.
