Eden Valley Area Historical Society update

·

We have made great strides in creating our own Historical Society, and we are currently planning for the possibility of a historical museum in our future. We have many processes already completed, and are now looking for local interested parties with some knowledge of Eden Valley history and culture to help lead us through the next steps. We need several people for a couple of positions.

First, while we have most board members in place, we are looking for someone interested in taking on the role of president. It would require having time to devote to this important project.

Second, we will need to form a collections committee dedicated to learning the ins and outs of museum operations. This committee will require several people, including some to review submitted items or documents, help make decisions on their relevance to Eden Valley area history, decide if it can have a home in our museum or how and where to display items/documents. We have a lot of residents who know Eden Valley history well. Please share your knowledge to help make this endeavor a success. (Note: we are not able to accept items or documents yet. We’ll make that announcement when we are ready to do so.)

Third, we need to increase membership to support the Historical Society. Visit www.edenvalleychamber.com, click on the Eden Valley Area Historical Society for a membership form. Your annual memberships will determine just how great our museum can be.
