Weather: Clouds and some spotty light rain were found across parts of Minnesota on Monday morning. There was also some dense fog across northwestern Minnesota with some patchy fog found across other areas of the state. This made for a bit of a dreary start to the week.
The clouds slowly gave way to some sunshine on Monday as most of the region enjoyed a partly sunny sky. Temperatures also were very mild to kick off the week with highs climbing into the mid to upper 50s on both Monday and Tuesday.
A weak disturbance will arrive by Wednesday and that cold brings some scattered rain showers to the region. The best chances for rain will be across southern Minnesota, but the rest of the area could see some light rain as well.
Some lingering rain and even some light snow could push across mainly east central Minnesota Wednesday night into Thursday as another system arrives.
High pressure is expected to return by Friday as sunshine should return across the area. Another weak disturbance will arrive by late Saturday night into Sunday. The moisture is limited at this stage over the weekend with this system, but we should see an increase in the cloud cover for Sunday.
Look for a mild weekend with temperatures generally in the low to mid 50s both Saturday and Sunday as we welcome in the month of April!
Enjoy the mild temperatures!
Weather history: On this date in 1986 it felt more like July than March as temperatures climbed into the 70s and 80s across Minnesota. The Twin Cities had a record high of a very warm 83 degrees F!
