The Kimball Express hosted the Eden Valley Hawks Sunday afternoon, June 18.
The Hawks scored the first two runs, in the top of the third inning, but the Express matched them in the bottom, and kept going while keeping Eden Valley at two. The final score was 6-2.
Matt Dingmann earned the win, pitching 7 innings, with Andy Dingmann pitching in relief. Tanner Olean would be tagged with the loss, also pitching 7 innings, with Austin Berg pitching 1 in relief.
The Express enjoyed two home runs, first by Ben Johnson in the first play of the fourth inning, and then by Brooks Marquardt in the fifth. Scott Marquardt and Adam Beyer each hit a double, while Zach Sufka, Ben Johnson, and Joey Von Wahlde each hit a pair of singles on the game. Scott Marquardt and Zach Sufka each hit 2 RBI.
The Hawks had two doubles on the game, by Tanner Olean and Austin Berg. Olean hit 1 RBI, as did Alex Geislinger.
The Express game also was error-free, compared to one error by the Hawks.
The Express next play the Dassel-Cokato Saints in Dassel at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 23, a non-league game. Saturday, June 24, they play at 1 p.m. at St. Augusta Gussies. At 2 p.m. Sunday, June 25, the Express will host the St. Nicholas Nicks at 2 p.m. in Kimball.
