Fatal crash near Kimball closes Hwy. 15

A 40-year-old St. Cloud woman was killed in a head-on collision between her pickup truck and a semi-truck 2 miles north of Kimball Monday morning, Jan. 22. Minnesota State Patrol closed down a stretch of Highway 15 for more than three hours following the accident. Authorities received a 9-1-1 call about 11:19 a.m. Monday to 15862 Highway 15 near Kimball. The State Patrol reports that Ronda M. Willenbring was headed southbound on Highway 15; she crossed into the northbound lane, and into the path of a semi-truck headed north on Highway 15. The semi-truck driver, Duane Tolzmann Jr., 58 of Mankato, was said to have made an evasive move to the right and after impact entered the east ditch. Tolzmann was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where he was treated and released. Kimball Fire and Rescue Department, Kimball Police Department, Watkins Ambulance, and Gold Cross Ambulance were called to assist the State Patrol. The accident is under investigation.
