Great River Chorale presents Wintertide
Great River Chorale will present Wintertide, the choir’s 2023 Holiday concert, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, both in St. Cloud. The program features Christmas and winter-themed music and narrations, and the St. Cloud String Quartet will perform with the choir and play prelude music.
Narrators are Michaela Hedican, OSB, and Paul-Vincent Niebauer, OSB, and the Sunday concert will have ASL interpretation by Anne Rhodes.
Tickets are $18 for adults (19 and older) and $5 for youth (18 and younger) and may be purchased in advance and at the door. All seats are general admission. For more information or to buy tickets, go to greatriverchorale.org.
Great River Chorale, a 57-voice community choir based in St. Cloud, is the principal choral partner of the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra with which it performs choral-orchestral works each season. The choir has been selected four times for Classical Minnesota Public Radio’s “Taste of the Holidays” CD featuring “Minnesota’s best regional ensembles,” was the only choir outside the Twin Cities metro area selected to perform in Chorus America’s 2021 National Conference, and was one of 10 Minnesota choirs to headline the 2015 Northern Voice Festival in St. Paul.
Great River Chorale is directed by Mary Kay Geston, and the collaborative pianist is Barbara Brooks.
