How important are Cardiac ReStart directional signs?

·

We just had a medical event at Joe’s Excavating which is just north of the junction of Stearns County Road 1 and Pine Point Road in Sartell. We have Cardiac ReStart directional signs in both directions on County Road 1 pointing down to the Cardiac ReStart unit on Pine Point Road.

An employee of Joe’s Excavating had chest pains and was slumped over next to his vehicle. His coworkers remembered the Cardiac ReStart directional signs on the county road and had one of their employees get the Pine Point AED. (Thanks to top-of-mind awareness!)

EMS was summoned. Although they didn’t need to use the AED, it was there and ready to use just in case.

The employee is alive and breathing thanks to the collective efforts of people working together to Save Lives.

Please notice the Avive AED in the guys hand.

Advocates for Health have more than 300 public AED units in Minnesota. I have a unit just installed in my yard in Kimball, and I’m assisting in fundraising for another unit at Diva’s Salon/Rise & Grind Coffee Shop also in Kimball. We will have a neighborhood awareness meeting within the next few weeks to let everyone in our area know about the new unit, how it works, and its importance in an emergency.
