Joseph Johnson, 80

Joseph Johnson of South Haven died peacefully Thursday, May 3, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was 80.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 19, at South Haven City Hall. Family will greet friends at 10 a.m. with a memorial service at 11 a.m.; lunch will follow the service.

Joseph Clarence Johnson was born Aug. 2, 1938, in Morton, Wa., to Clarence and Josephine (Arens) Johnson-Rohrbeck.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Clarence Joseph Johnson, first wife of 26 years Yvonne (Horwath) Johnson, brother Howard Johnson, and brother-in-law Chuck Christian.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years Carol (Saukkola) Johnson; daughters Tina (and Russ) Link, Leana Repke, Laurie (and Oscar) Laney; stepson Jason (and Shanna) Saukkola); eight grandchildren, nine great-gn, and one great-great-grandson; siblings Edward (and Ileen) Johnson, Rosie Christian, Jeanne (and Earl) Rohrbeck, Sandy (and Bob) Lundy; sisters-in-law Betty Johnson, and Christine (and Richard) Erickson; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
