July could provide some much needed above-average precipitation

We had a nice weekend heading into the 4th of July. I know with Independence Day landing on a Tuesday, some people took off Monday making it into a long, four-day weekend.

With the lack of rainfall overall during the month of June, we will have some rain chances moving in for Thursday and they could last into the weekend. However, those chances for rainfall are only a small chance for each and every day. Temperatures will be slightly above average during the period.

By the way, the 30-day outlook for the month of July is calling for temperatures to be near average with above-normal precipitation likely. That is some good news with the very dry conditions found around much of Greater Minnesota. At this point, the area is dealing with a moderate drought that could get worse without some heavy rainfall.
