KAHS needs upgrades

Science, in any school, is a core subject. I had the privilege of teaching at least two class periods of science in the Kimball School District for 38 years. In that time, the science classrooms have not been upgraded to accommodate where science curriculum headed, and that is as lab-based, hands-on learning. Currently, the science classrooms are small, safety is a concern, designated lab stations are lacking, and functioning resources, such as sinks and faucets, are in need of repair and overhaul to address the needs of lab-based science curriculum.

As for the addition of an auditorium and community fitness center, what a great way to bring our community together on many levels. Young and old alike will benefit from the events and experiences each of those additions can provide. In communities that have one or both, it has provided a sense of ownership in where their tax dollars are going and brings a camaraderie between all age levels and families.

I encourage all members of the Kimball Schools community to vote YES on Nov. 3, 2015, and ?ÄúInvest Today For The Future of our Students and Community.?Äù
